Gone but not forgotten
Text Box: This site is also in memory of a very good friend who committed suicide on December 1, 2000. Len enlisted in and entered the U.S. Army on active duty in February 1994. I had the pleasure of meeting Len in 1997, while I was a trooper and he was based at Ft. Hood, Texas. We became great friends during the time that I knew him. Len like myself enjoyed helping others, causing us to sometime neglect our own needs and put our feeling to the side. I think that the hardest part of both of our lives was to fall short of what we wanted for ourselves and being able to face and accept failure. We had no desire to let anyone know that we had problems no matter what the were. We both wanted to be that person that others came to for help and not the other way around. Even though his death was very difficult for me to accept, I was able to identify my weaknesses through it and realized the importance of having someone you could confide in. I know that Len is watching over me and giving me strength and courage to follow my dreams in assisting others, by discussing and providing training on SUICIDE AWARENESS.
